Momma Rhino Publishing is a family run publishing company created to publish the work of Dena Birmingham.
Our latest book, “The Epic Adventures of Deep Space 1“, is a non-fiction children’s book about the adventures of the Deep Space 1 Asteroid Probe. DS1 was launched by NASA and JPL in 1998 and became space junk for almost a year, but even that couldn’t stop “the little spacecraft that could”.
It’s an inspiring story of bitter disappointments and wild successes. DS1 has a growth mindset and grit to match!

The first book we published, “The Invisible Pet“, is a children’s book where logic meets imagination. A helpful friend doesn’t get it quite right and the surprise at the end will stun and delight readers of all ages.

Our Author: Dena Birmingham
Dena Birmingham’s first literary success was winning an Honorable Mention prize after entering a writing contest at the local public library. They continued writing through their teen years as an angsty poet, but lost sight of their passion for a few decades.
Dena grew up in New England (where it’s too darned cold) and currently resides in Southern California (where it’s too darned hot). Dena and her partner spend their time playing World of Warcraft Classic and unschooling their Three Little Cookies.
Dena’s hobbies include watercolor painting, yoga, playing board games, and looking at planets through their telescope. Dena’s interest in astrology has led them to paint several of the constellations and they have recently opened an Etsy shop.
